Dr. Dijkstra was born in Calgary, AB, Canada. Soon afterwards he moved to Europe where he lived in Holland, Belgium and Germany before moving to Massachusetts when he was nine. After attending finishing elementary and starting junior high school, he moved to Yellowknife, NWT, Canada for high school. After high school, Dr. Dijkstra moved to Calgary to attend the University of Calgary where he graduated on the Dean's list with a B.Sc in Zoology and published two papers about flying lizards. Soon afterwards, he moved to Los Angeles to study chiropractic at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now SCUHS) where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a DC (Doctorate of Chiropractic.) In 2003 Dr. Dijkstra moved to the East part of the Netherlands to work as an associate until 2006 when he joined another practice in the West of the Netherlands and worked there until 2009. In 2009 he started his own practice, Dijkstra Chiropractie, in The Hague. In 2014 Dr. Dijkstra and his wife made the decision to return to North America to be closer to family and moved to New Jersey.
While working in the Netherlands, he had a chance to work with International, national, divisional and recreational level soccer (football), rugby, equestrian, and field hockey athletes. He also worked with many recreational runners of all distances. It was with his first encounter with an international level soccer player that he became interested in pursuing sports medicine which led him to study and attain the International Chiropractic Sport Science Physician (ICSSP ® ) title with the Federation Chiropractique du Sport (FICS) and an M.Sc. in Applied Sports and Rehabilitation through the Anglo European College of Chiropractic and the University of Bournemouth. In 2020 he achieved the highest level of sport chiropractic accreditation in the United States - the Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians
(DACBSP ® .)
With his involvement in Sport and post doctoral education, Dr. Dijkstra noticed two things. The first that the advanced techniques developed to help athletes perform better and heal from injuries quicker worked for everyone! Secondly, that while studying he learned evidence based medicine which allowed him to communicate with the various sporting organizations and their medical personnel better.
When Dr. Dijkstra is not working, he likes to spend time with his family, trying to out lift 20 year-olds at the gym and frustrate himself with various DIY projects.
Growing up and still residing in Florham Park, NJ, Dr. Mitola is deeply
connected to the local community he now serves. He attended Gill St. Bernard’s
High School, competing against the best basketball teams in the state and
cultivating his passion for movement and athletics. His journey continued at
George Washington University, where he played Division 1 men’s basketball, led
the team as captain for two seasons, and earned his Bachelor’s in Exercise
Science. During college, Dr. Mitola also gained invaluable experience working
hands-on in the Athletic Training Room, helping student-athletes recover and
perform at their peak.
Building on these experiences, Dr. Mitola pursued his Doctor of Chiropractic
degree at the University of Bridgeport, graduating as valedictorian. His advanced
training in chiropractic care and myofascial release, combined with his
competitive sports background, gives him a unique and practical perspective on
patient care.
Dr. Mitola’s main goal is to empower you to move better, recover from pain, and
live an active, healthy lifestyle—so you can get back to doing everything you
want to do.
When Dr. Mitola is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking,
and staying active through golf and basketball.
Hi, I'm Kymberly! I started taking night classes at the Institute of Therapeutic Massage in 2019 and left my corporate job in 2020. While finishing at ITM I worked at a chiropractor's office. This gave me a unique style of Swedish and medical massage. I have also integrated hot stone treatments. I believe that massage can improve quality of life through reduced stress or pain.
For fun, I like to read and chase after my two kids!
Hi, I'm Theresa, the front office manager of Precision Spine and Sport. I'm sure you've met me or spoken with me on the phone. I run the show and keep it running well.
